Historic Deerfield Photos
Photos taken in the fall of 2014 of historic Deerfield, Massachusetts. Deerfield was the target of a French and Indigenous raid in 1704, in which 112 captives were taken from the New England town and marched 300 miles to Canada. Many French Canadians are descendants of one or more of the Deerfield captives, such as Sarah Allen, Abigail Nims and Josiah Rising (which became Raizenne).
