Our Canadian Educators
A Visual Journey from the 17th century and Beyond
Content warning: this page contains photos of Indian Residential Schools and Japanese internment camp schools.
The narrative of Canadian education is incomplete without acknowledging its somber chapters, especially that of Indian Residential Schools. I felt it necessary to include these images, though I understand they may be difficult for survivors and their loved ones to see. Support is available for anyone affected by their experience at residential schools. A national Indian Residential School Crisis Line has been set up to provide support for former students and those affected. People can access emotional and crisis referral services by calling the 24-hour national crisis line: 1-866-925-4419.
